4 Weeks Left until the Program= NERVOUS!

I have 4 weeks and 5 days until check- in day and I've been busy as hell getting everything ready to go! I've accomplished the following things that needed to be done before August 4th- the day I'm leaving:
  • After toting my old license around for 2 years, I have finally gotten it switched so that it is the right way (horizontal instead of vertical). Lol I know this sounds stupid, and that's because it is.
  • I bought quick car repair and emergency travel kits for the LONG across the country drive my dad and I are about to undertake.
  • I have bought all the stuff I need including some additional clothing items.
  • I have packed all the clothes I will need immediately.
    • My parents will be mailing me stuff for when it gets cold later.
    • I will make a list of everything I packed clothes wise later, so that anyone who reads this blog for a future CP will know what to bring, what to leave, and what I thought I needed that I have absolutely no use for at all and should have left.
  • I packed my foot locker FULL of:
    • my towels, wash clothes, hand towels, and bath mat
    • small decorative items that will help make it feel immediately more like home
    • scrap book paper, ribbon, and lots of thumbtacks for the bulletin board that I'll have on my side of the bedroom.
    • My bathroom decor stuff like toothbrush holder, etc.
    • my plate, bowl, cups, and my own set of 1 knife 1 fork and 1 spoon.
      • This is important and often overlooked when packing for a program. I recommend that you ALWAYS have your own set of utensils and stuff to eat on simply because even though they give you all that stuff in the apartments, they only give you at max the number of each that matches the number of people in your apartment (6 people= 6 cups, maybe 8) and when all those are dirty because someone used more than 1 cup, plate, bowl, and fork, etc, then there is nothing to eat off of until the dishwasher is done. Trust me, no matter how on top of the dishes you and your roommies are, it will happen.
    • My mickey mouse vintage style "breakfast tray" just in case I want to eat or drink while sitting on my bed.
    • My Darth Vader, Zero, and Jack Skellington plushies... They were with me last time and I figured it wouldn't be so bad having them around this time. I don't sleep with stuffed animals, but they make cute bed accessories along with my other pillows.
    • my college program notebook for the class I picked- Exploring Marketing on Wednesdays @ 8:30am- Chatham Square classroom 4 starting in October!
    • I'll put my school books and supplies for my online class from my actual school in some other container later.
  • I have started to plot out what shoes, scarfs, and hats, I'll be bringing, but I've already packed all the jewelry I'll be using.
So, before this blog gets crazy long, I'll go ahead and end it until I can think of some more things to blog about before the adventure of driving begins. I will say this one final thing though, I am getting REALLY nervous about leaving and driving down there. I'm not thrilled with highway driving at home, let along crossing the country and then driving around on the highways in Orlando. I have been trying to drive more on the highways here in preparation, but I don't know if I can do this... But I NEED my car while I'm there. I have no choice but to just drive.

13 Weeks

I've been so horrendously busy with school that I've completely ignored this blog. Though honestly, there hasn't been shit going on in the DCP world. It's been silent as far as communication from Disney, and everyone on the groups are pretty busy with school and their own personal lives.... But then I looked at me countdown today...

There are 13 Weeks until check-in day. Now that breaks down to 95 days. It's seems like a lot. It isn't really. This coming week starting on Monday is week 12. Then the next is week 11- finals week. Then there's week 10, which isn't really significant at all, but after that is yes that's right: week 9. Which now that I type that seems friggen stupid because week 9 is just as insignificant as week 10... Uh, moving on... My point is that weeks go fast. Whether you have stuff to do or not. The weeks will blow by this summer, especially with the two summer classes I have to take that ate accelerated 4 week classes. Those always fly by. So when that's finished, I will have about 2 weeks to pack, say my goodbyes to friends, get the car ready, and rest before leaving on the 3rd of August with my parents to drive to Florida. I'm reminded in a small way of Ferris Bueller's famous line, though it doesn't inspire me to take a friend's father's very expensive restored convertible out, it just makes me nervous.

Busy busy busy!

This semester has been hectic for me, hence my lack of attention to this blog. I've had so many projects lately it's crazy! But there's really just one thing to report that's college program related and that's on the roommate front (all great news lol). But more on that later, as I have a lot to say. Stay tuned folks!
