Woohoo!

Applications went up!

Last night at 9pm my time, midnight east coast time, apps finally dropped! I applied right away and then had to wait until today to get the email that allows me to progress to the WBI (Web Based Interview). I took that and then about 30 minutes later I got my next email that allowed me to pick a date and time to have my phone interview: tomorrow, January 24th, at 9:30am my time!!! Now, to other alumni from before 2012, and many of you future CP's, the multiple emails may seem a little much. The old system was certainly less nerve-wracking, since the WBI was right after the initial application and then after the WBI you were prompted to call in and schedule an interview. I think this new way of doing it, helps ease the strain on the system and also gives people time to sit back and breathe.

So as far as the WBI, as I said in my last blog, it's REALLY not that bad. The most important thing to do is read the questions and take your time until you get to the questions that are timed. Try not to have so many "neutral" answers or negative answers ( "I don't work well with others"= Strongly agree)*. They ask certain questions multiple times and rephrased so that they can check for continuity in your answers. So if you were asked "I am almost always on time" you would answer with a strongly agree answer. But then later they could ask "I am almost always late". It's the same question with 2 excluded words, and if you read too quickly and only see "I am almost always...", you might put strongly agree for that and end up with a negative hit on your WBI. The timed questions as I mentioned before seem like pressure, but they're not. The first set are timed for 50 seconds each and then the second set are timed for 20 seconds. 20 seconds may seem too quick, but count for 20 seconds (the whole one 1,000, two 1,000 deal). It's not as short as it feels.
Remember to keep calm and read the questions and you'll do fine! Keep your answers in the strongly agree or disagree levels, and don't lie! Be honest and answer the questions to the best of your ability! It's easy. =]

*The scale for the harder second part of the WBI in order of how it appears:
strongly disagree- disagree -neutral- agree- strongly agree
The easier first part scale:
1- 2- 3- 4- 5
