So at the end of my interview I was told it would take up to two weeks to here back from Disney. It has now officially been 7 days since my interview. It's not that I'm worried or bothered by this, it's just that I have a lot going on this semester and out of my 4 professors, 1 is an extreme pain in the ass so far. He's pretty inflexible as far as everything so far, so I need to know I'm going to Florida and I need to know soon, so that I can warn my professors and maybe have them note that I need to take my finals early. School will officially end for me on the 18th of May. If my arrival date is anywhere close to that I will need time to a) pack b) drive down and c) have at least a day before check in to adjust and relax.
But, again, it's only been 1 week today. I still have another week left in the 2 weeks she said it would take to hear back and my Dashboard says I'm "In Progress". So I'm not worried, not bothered, but I am a little bit anxious.

Interview Day!
Went pretty good. My interviewer was Mandy and she was very sweet and cheery which was awesome. She had done the CP as a main entrance operations cast member and then moved into several different areas including being a manager in Entertainment! So cool. Anyway, because I'm an alumni I was asked a lot of questions about my former program including where I worked, did I enjoy my job, how was my overall experience, did I live in housing and how did I cope with any issues that arose in housing. Another question was how did I cope with repetitive movement and slow times. What would I do if a guest came up to me while I was doing a task? Can I multitask? How would my current and former jobs help me perform the roles I have listed. I was also asked a few Character Performer questions because I had marked it as Low Interest. I was given the audition date: March 26th, and the location, Salt Lake City, Utah. I haven't decided if I'm really going to go for character or not, as my dancing skills are a little... well okay I have no dancing skills. I also don't think I look like any face characters so that's out. It would be so cool though to be Minnie Mouse.
Some of the other roles I was asked about were Merchandise and Character Attendant. The questions were pretty general about Merch since I had two clothing stores listed on my work experience. I was asked what my job entailed at the retail store. Like what were my tasks. I said I was on register and also I was a greeter for guests entering the stores. I was also tasked at one of the stores with increasing sales from the dressing room- meaning that I had to make sure I did add ons like accesories and extra items.
But for character attendant I was asked how I would react to a guest that was scared of the characters. I said I would make sure they knew the characters were the same as they were on TV, just a little bigger because they didn't have to be in that small screen at the parks. I also said I would tell them I used to be afraid of the characters too, until I gave them a hug and saw how nice and cuddly they were.
I was kind of nervous as I hadn't interviewed with Disney in a long time, but I became less jittery as the interview went on. I even had her laughing with me at some points, I think it's always a good sign and shows they are engaged in what you're saying as much as you are. I stuttered out a few responses but was able to correct myself well. She mentioned a lot that since I had already worked for Disney I was familiar with working outside or inside and I knew how the schedules worked and so on. So I think that overall it went well. But after we had hung up the phone I got another call from her 2 minutes later. She had forgotten one really silly question: Did I have a valid US driver's license. I said yes I do and we said goodbye again and She said I'd be hearing from them soon. I hope the fact that she didn't just brush off that last question and not call me to ask is an excellent sign that she wanted to make sure she got every last bit of info from me.
I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope I get Merchandise or Character Attendant. But over all that, I hope I get to go to WDW.
Now the waiting game begins. She said I should hear back within a couple of weeks, and to keep checking my dashboard for communication from Disney. And believe me, I will be checking everyday. The first time I applied I was accepted in 8 days. The second time- when I couldn't go and had to decline- I knew in 10 days. So my luck must be strong and let's hope it carries through on this round!!

Woohoo!
Applications went up!
Last night at 9pm my time, midnight east coast time, apps finally dropped! I applied right away and then had to wait until today to get the email that allows me to progress to the WBI (Web Based Interview). I took that and then about 30 minutes later I got my next email that allowed me to pick a date and time to have my phone interview: tomorrow, January 24th, at 9:30am my time!!! Now, to other alumni from before 2012, and many of you future CP's, the multiple emails may seem a little much. The old system was certainly less nerve-wracking, since the WBI was right after the initial application and then after the WBI you were prompted to call in and schedule an interview. I think this new way of doing it, helps ease the strain on the system and also gives people time to sit back and breathe.
So as far as the WBI, as I said in my last blog, it's REALLY not that bad. The most important thing to do is read the questions and take your time until you get to the questions that are timed. Try not to have so many "neutral" answers or negative answers ( "I don't work well with others"= Strongly agree)*. They ask certain questions multiple times and rephrased so that they can check for continuity in your answers. So if you were asked "I am almost always on time" you would answer with a strongly agree answer. But then later they could ask "I am almost always late". It's the same question with 2 excluded words, and if you read too quickly and only see "I am almost always...", you might put strongly agree for that and end up with a negative hit on your WBI. The timed questions as I mentioned before seem like pressure, but they're not. The first set are timed for 50 seconds each and then the second set are timed for 20 seconds. 20 seconds may seem too quick, but count for 20 seconds (the whole one 1,000, two 1,000 deal). It's not as short as it feels.
Remember to keep calm and read the questions and you'll do fine! Keep your answers in the strongly agree or disagree levels, and don't lie! Be honest and answer the questions to the best of your ability! It's easy. =]
*The scale for the harder second part of the WBI in order of how it appears:
strongly disagree- disagree -neutral- agree- strongly agree
The easier first part scale:
1- 2- 3- 4- 5

Sooooommmmeeedddaaayyy applications will drooppp!!! [Warbly Snow White Voice]
In all seriousness, Applications for Fall 2012 are "supposed" to drop on Monday, January 23rd. That is according to multiple sources and a lot of reading between the lines of the extremely vague and slightly annoying Official Disney College Program Facebook status updates. The excitement is building and I can't wait!! I'm applying Day 1 which everybody and their mother have an opinion about applying day 1 but I don't really care. The sooner I apply the better- for me personally. I want to be able to have flexibility in the day and time I pick to interview and like most job interviews I'm willing to bet that the sooner you interview, the better your chances of getting the happy and less stressed out interviewer... So now my reasoning seems clear, I hope.
Annnnyyywwwaayyy...
As soon as I apply I will be posting a blog on the ever- elusive, nerve- wracking for most, WBI- or WEB BASED INTERVIEW [dooon doonn doooooonnnnn lol]. It's really not that bad. I think it's the timed part that freaks people out the most. The first time I took it back in late 2009*, I had done no research on it, as I had barely heard of the DCP. I aced it. It's easy. Just go for stronger answers like Strongly Agree and Strongly Disagree. You can throw some neutrals in, for humility, but no more than a few. And stay consistent!! They throw some of the questions back at you again- worded differently- to trip up the people who aren't really reading the questions or paying attention. Like a test within a test if you will.
Well that's all for now until sometime during Monday or Maybe Tuesday after class to discuss the new application system and how to stay on top of your game for that dreaded WBI.
* [for the Spring Advantage 2010, and really any Spring Disney program, you apply in the FALL before the program. It works the same way only flipped for FALL program dates, i.e: apply for fall in spring, like I'm doing now]

Time to Blog!
So applications are coming out for the FALL 2012 program season for the Disney College Program and I am bursting with excitement! I haven't been this zippy since I applied and was accepted to my first program back in 2010. I can't believe it's been 2 years since then! I got so caught up in everything last time that I didn't blog or vlog a damn thing lol. But this time around I am going to document everything. Every little thing because in addition to wanting this to be a helpful tool to other CP's and future CP's, I also want to be able to remember everything. This will be awesome for me to have to look back on. I've never been to Disney World, so this will truly be the biggest adventure of my adult life since my mom and I were on 'What Not to Wear' back when I had just turned 18. I can't wait to apply, the anticipation is starting to make me antsy.
